VSA Florida Regional Program Coordinator

VSA Florida is currently hiring a Regional Program Coordinator for the South
Florida territory. This is a part-time contract position requiring 7-10 hours/week including some travel throughout region. Interested candidates that are centrally located in the Miami Dade area including Palm Beach, Broward, Upper Monroe, Collier, Lee, Hendry or Charlotte county are asked to submit a resume and complete the attached proposal before July 15, 2012.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The ASSETS program helps entrepreneurs start or strengthen their small
businesses. ASSETS is the small business development program of South Florida Urban Ministries. ASSETS provides a broad range of business advisory
services to help our clients tackle business challenges and achieve new levels of growth. ASSETS Program Associates help to offer training, counseling and guidance to ASSETS clients.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will address the business needs (sales, marketing, finance,
operation) as well as the personal financial needs (credit, housing, budgeting,
financial products etc) of the owner/operator and their employees. The Business
Coach will also be responsible for integrating ASSETS into the rest of
the SFLUM organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Direct Service & Relationship Management (60%)
Direct services provided will include: analyzing needs and provide solutions
through coaching and/or consulting models depending on clients’ business and
personal finance needs.

 Conduct and coordinate the intake and assessment of clients this
position will serve

 Identify needs of the clients through one-on-one meeting(s)
 Develop objectives and strategies with the client; establish long-range
objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them

 Coach clients to identify their businesses’ strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats, and encourage clients to take specific steps towards
achieving their goals

 Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
and solve
problems for/with the clients, document meetings and prepare reports

 Elicit individualized business or financial stability plans in collaboration
with entrepreneurs or employees that are in need

 Provide or assist in securing project specific advice and expertise
 Follow-up and evaluate progress with clients and outcomes of services
delivered

 Refer clients to other SFLUM services, partners, connect them with resources,
networking opportunities to provide opportunities

 Support clients in increasing revenues, reducing inefficiencies, building
capacity and accessing appropriate financing

 Conduct regular site visits to see the clients’ businesses and evaluate
 Plan, market and coordinate/conduct advanced trainings, workshops or
mini-series

2. Program Administration (15%)
 Gather, control and monitor program activities, and outputs received
 Measure performance of the program, outcomes and value provided to clients
 Frequent meetings/communication with the Center for Financial Stability (CFS)
Director to discuss problems, plan activities, and establish objectives

 Complete bi-monthly program reports for inclusion in board of directors
meeting packet

 Manage grant schedule with timely completion of grant applications and grant
reports

 Cultivate fruitful and positive relationships with program partners,
volunteers, stakeholders, participants, and general community

 Develop, improve, and implement program with oversight and input from
management, feedback from clients and their needs

 Monitor and report client satisfaction and follow-up to ensure long-term
success of clients

4. Stakeholder and Program Development (15%)
 Research and develop creative and innovative ways to recruit, engage and
retain volunteers to ensure long-term rapport to sustain mentorship
and teaching
component of the program

 Provide coordination with volunteers ensuring smooth program operations
 Conduct information/exploration seminars to educate and recruit participants,
partners, volunteer instructors and mentors

 Represent the program to the broader community and region
 Speak to local groups, partners, other service providers, associations,
churches and at all other networking opportunities about program services

 Participate in program evaluation, planning and development
 Build relationships with partners and potential partners and volunteers;
exploit opportunities to provide added value for the program clients

5. Management (10%)
 Planning: Plan and develop strategic objectives, establish priorities, set
expectations, define accountabilities and delineate time frames. Align
organizational goals with those of individuals', clarify their roles and
articulate the vision.

 Organizing: Align work unit's activities with those of SFLUM by structuring
and coordinating necessary resources. Select right-fit talent, orient, identify
training needs and train/support direct reports to perform efficiently and
effectively.

 Motivating: Build high performing team by inspiring and coaching team to
achieve goals, creating open communication and flow of ideas to increase morale, harmony, collaboration, effectiveness, and create synergy prevent and resolve conflicts.

 Monitoring & Evaluating: Monitor productivity, ensure standards,
organizational values, procedures and policies are adhered to, timelines are met and plans are followed. Evaluate performance; identify gaps, barriers and development needs. Revisit, revise goals accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
§ Bachelors degree is required; Masters degree is preferred
§ MBA or Masters in Management/Marketing degree is a plus
§ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
§ Fluent in English required; and fluency in Spanish or Creole strongly
preferred

§ Successful experiences in o Non-profit, business, micro-enterprise development or especially as an entrepreneur;

o Writing grant proposals, reports and business plans;
o Working in a multi-cultural environment;
o Team player and a leader; proven ability to work with and motivate volunteers
and coworkers will strengthen candidacy
