FFC 1st ANNUAL LIFE EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE
February 25 & 26 2011
Session - 1: Friday, February 25, 2011, the first night of the FFC Life Empowerment Conference was a success. The speakers including Kate Johnson, MA, LMHC, Life Strategist, Rodrick Walters, CPA, from The Upbeat Dad, Yve Dargensen from Social Security, Carlene Whyte-McNee, ARNP, Medical Educator, were all lively, entertaining, and informative.
The evening was especially delightful when the Salt Changers Anointed Praise Dancers entertained. Everyone left the first session felling empowered to return for the second session Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 6pm.
Saturday's speakers will include, well known Immigration Attorney, Paula S. D'Aguilar, who has offices in Plantation, Florida. Her segment will be popular as South Florida has many immigrants who are having grave immigration issues. It is hoped that the information given tonight will help to alleviate some of those problems. It is hoped that those suffering from domestic violence and abuse will benefit the most.
Family & Friends Connection, Inc is trying to get the entire community empowered and that is why this, so far successful conference was planned. Because of the success, this will be an annual event to benefit residents in Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Miami Dade County and all other neighboring cities.

Life Empowerment Conference - Session 2
Saturday, February 26, 2011 was a really remarkable date is the Family & Friends Connection Organization. Our Free Life Empowerment Conference was a 'hit' with the conference attendees.
Before I go further let me thank all of our loyal, hardworking members and volunteers, who so proudly performed their assigned duties to help make the entire week-end a smashing success. You showed what community togetherness with dedication, and hard work can accomplish. Thank you so much for being such wonderful, unpaid volunteers.
Now before I get too excited, the community turned out in numbers that made us satisfied. Every seat in the room was taken during the Saturday evening session. We could not ask for more than that. Out radio listeners showed up and further reinforced the need for us to continue our outreach via the airwaves and the internet. Thank you for showing up in such large numbers.
Those of you who were unable to be present, missed a great evening of information which was delivered in such a way that it was both informational and entertaining. South Florida is filled with immigrants, so naturally, the Immigration segment was well received. Attorney Paula S. D'Aguilar was very direct and her presentation was dynamic and very easy to understand. She presented some very enlightening, educational words of encouragement and advise. Her message resonated with many in the audience, who were suffering through some of the same processes she was talking about.
Yve Dargensen from the South Florida, Social Security Director's Office returned to pick up where she left off the night before. She cleared up some common misconceptions about Social Security and gave some very good information. Yve was so generous, that when she heard the wealth of immigration information, and the nature of the information that Attorney D'Aguilar was presenting, she donated some of her speaking time for the audience to be able to ask her more questions. That was very thoughtful and classy Yve. Thank you again.
The Credit Analyst's presentation was highly anticipated and Joma McLeod delivered in style. She was able to impart some important information for a Credit Repair Specialist perspective. We will always include her in any other outreach function that FFC has. She was a little rushed at the end of the night but non the less, she gave some very good information that we are sure will help those who needed it, tremendously.
The only disappointing aspect of the conference was the donations received. Well, that is partly due to the fact that we got so excited about everything and everyone was having such a good time. We forgot to take up a love offering the first night. and took one up rather late, during the second night. Those of you who were present, or those who could not attend, can still send us your financial support. You can send a donation via our website donation section or you can mail a check or money order to Family & Friends Connection, Inc. 6237 SW 21st Street, Miramar, FL 33023. Feel free to call our President, Donneth and arrange pick up of any donation you may want to give to our organization. 954-319-7066
The FFC Life Empowerment Conference will be an annual event. Look out for our announcement for next year's event. We will have mini events throughout the year, based on the needs of our community and the requests that Family & Friends Connection, Inc receives. We are open for suggestions and Partnership opportunities. (More pictures coming soon.)
