3: Community Outreach
Family and Friend’s philosophy is that each one can reach one. Hence, the FFC mission of giving to the community would not be complete if we did not provide an opportunity for those who come through our doors to help themselves and further impact the lives of others. Community Outreach takes the form of calendared volunteerism that increases social awareness and the privilege of service. Here we want to make mention of one of our community partners and Sister Organization Brinnikas Resources. We have been able to help many more people due to the assistance that FFC continues to receive from this Community Resource.
Social Security Administration
Is a federal agency that provides retirement, disability and survivors benefits. Social Security administer the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program which can make monthly payments to people with low income and limited resources who are age 65 or older, blind or disabled. SSI also provides benefits to children with disabilities. You can save time by applying online for benefits. To this end, FFC is committed to helping our community to self actualize in areas that provide meaning to their lives. We have connections through Brinnikas Resources and WorkForce One to assist men, women and teens who require job placement assistance.

2-1-1 HOMELESS HELP LlINE
CALLING 2-1-1 IS THE FIRST STEP TO FINDING SHELTER.
A single setback such as illness, loss of a job or home foreclosure causes many families each year to become homeless. The road from homelessness to shelter can be long, hard and uncertain. Without support, information and reliable referrals, many would search aimlessly, trying to find resources to meet their most basic needs. FFC is pointing homeless or near homeless individuals to the 2-1-1 Broward Helpline.
The 2-1-1 Homeless Helpline is the gateway to homeless services in Broward County, the first step in finding shelter, support services, or programs that help an individual or family who are homeless or on the verge of being homeless.
