Many people go through their entire lives never fully realizing their full potential, because they do not believe in themselves, or their self worth, or has anyone who truly believes in them.  Family & Friends Connection, Inc believes that each one of us has more worth than we imagine, and also the potential to achieve above and beyond anything that we ever dream of.

Established since 2008, Family & Friends Connection, Inc 'Realizing Your Self Worth Scholarship Awards Program', honors the academic achievements of young leaders, who graduate from Broward County, Florida High Schools.  The ‘Realizing Your Self Worth Scholarship Award’ is so named, in order to help the community understand the true motive, expectation and purpose of the scholarship.

At present, the scholarship is only open to graduating seniors who attend Broward County High Schools.  There are certain criteria to be met, and qualified applicants must have already received an acceptance to attend a tertiary institution.

Family & Friends Connection, Inc is proud to partner with the various community sponsors, and individual sponsors to form this uniquely, strategic collaboration that helped to provide meaning, and purpose to what FFC is trying to accomplish in Miramar and beyond.  The scholarship is designed to reinforce the importance of higher education, and as a benefit to the various communities where the applicants call home.

The four students who received the Family & Friends Realizing Your Self Worth Scholarship Award on Saturday, June 11, 2011, are future leaders of tomorrow.  They have demonstrated great academic and extracurricular achievements, and this scholarship award will help each of them to continue, to aim high in their quest for further educational development.

Each year, the FFC scholarship committee reviews numerous applications from graduating high school students in Broward County, Florida, before selecting the  finalists. As part of the process, prospective scholarship recipients submit and application and essay, and interview with the scholarship committee.

This year, we received very impressive applications from a number of students. It is very gratifying to see how much importance each of them placed on getting a degree and building a solid future for themselves. FFC is proud to be able to support our award recipients and their parents through this program.

Applications to the program are reviewed by the scholarship committee who evaluate each student's academic achievement, essay quality, community service, leadership capabilities, communication skills and recommendation letters. Scholarships are awarded based on achievement in five different areas: Academic Merit, Community Service and/or Innovation, Essay, whether or not the graduate has been accepted to a tertiary institution.
