I'm inside the carwash; engine off; brushes whirling; water splashing--and my mind is totally convinced that I am moving forward. It seems so real, I have to gaze on the walls of the stationary building to neutralize this illusion. Many would-be achievers feel satisfied that they're in motion toward some goal or purpose, but in fact, their engine is off...it is a mere illusion from living in a fast paced world. Living in a hectic world of change does not protect you from lethargy and stagnation. You must take action; but activity is not enough....
Many other would-be achievers whip up a frenzy of activities and believe their performance to yield desired outcomes, but they are merely jogging in place like a hamster in a cage. You can be too busy to make any money; to enjoy the great life; or, to fulfill your life purpose. You can work 18 hour days at two jobs, a part time business, raising a family, going to night school, and still achieve nothing that moves you forward. On the other hand, focused work that is clear in purpose, will ultimately yield results that yield rewards.
